Kaunsa Card?

How discount caps work

Turn a percentage into the rupees you may actually save.

What does a bank card discount cap mean?

Short answer: a cap limits the rupees you save, however high the percentage is.

A discount cap is the maximum discount allowed under an offer for the scope stated in its terms, often one eligible transaction. For a percentage offer, estimated savings are the smaller of eligible bill × discount rate and the exact card's cap. A missing cap means the limit is unknown; it does not mean unlimited savings.

For example, 30% off with a maximum discount of Rs 1,000 saves Rs 600 on an eligible Rs 2,000 bill. On an eligible Rs 6,000 bill, 30% is Rs 1,800, so the cap reduces the estimated saving to Rs 1,000.

Worked example: 30% off, capped at Rs 1,000

These are illustrative calculations, not a current bank offer. They assume the whole bill is eligible and every other offer condition is met.

Eligible bill30% before capEstimated saving
Rs 2,000Rs 600Rs 600
Rs 6,000Rs 1,800Rs 1,000
Rs 12,000Rs 3,600Rs 1,000

The cap starts to limit this example once the eligible bill exceeds about Rs 3,333. Above that point, a larger bill does not increase the discount unless the offer has different terms.

A current catalogue example

A current catalogue listing for English Tea House in Faisalabad shows 50% off with the Allied Bank Visa Infinite Debit Card. The listed card cap is Rs 10,000. Check Allied Bank's discount page (a general bank page, not this exact offer).

This example illustrates a card-specific cap. Its valid day, branch, bill and other conditions still need checking before payment; the listing is not a confirmed redemption. About Kaunsa Card?

What else changes the actual discount?

Check the exact card tier, participating outlet, valid day and time, minimum spend, order mode, exclusions and transaction limits. A restaurant may exclude tax, service charges or parts of the bill. Some offers say “up to,” so the advertised rate is a ceiling rather than a promise. A cap shown for one card cannot safely be applied to another card.

Compare your own bill and card. If a term or listing is wrong, send a correction.
